Supporter Briefing: Welcoming the Stranger from Afghanistan
JFS has been assisting adults, children, and families fleeing Afghanistan since August 2021, when American troops withdrew from the country and the Afghan government collapsed. Our critical support is comprised of legal and social services, including welcoming and resettling hundreds of refugees in our community.
Over the past two years, Taliban restrictions on daily life and a hostile environment has put vulnerable groups at increased risk within Afghanistan, causing even more Afghans to seek asylum in the U.S. today.
Join us for a virtual Welcome the Stranger Supporter Briefing on Thursday, August 31, 1:00-2:15pm to learn more about how our work with Afghan refugees is evolving to meet present-day challenges.
