Application Services
Our Immigration Services department offers citizenship and naturalization services. Those who may qualify include:

  • United States FlagIndividuals who currently have a green card and have been in the United States for 4 years and 9 months or more; OR
  • Individuals who currently have a green card who married a United States citizen and have been in the United States for 3 years or more living with their United States citizen spouse.

How We Can Help You Become a Citizen:

  • We provide naturalization services to people of all faiths
  • We will complete and send the N-400 (application for Citizenship) or N-600 (application for Citizen Certification)

Citizenship Classes

Jewish Family Service is proud to announce the new citizenship education partnership with San Diego County Libraries. This new partnership now offers more classes at several library branches throughout San Diego County!

All classes are FREE and available for all English levels. Citizenship applicants are tested on their knowledge of U.S history and civics, along with their ability to read, write, and speak English. For general information about citizenship classes, contact Paulina Bermudez at (858) 637-3364 or

Classes are funded through the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services grant, an agency of the Department of Homeland Security. Per grant requirements, Jewish Family Service is required to maintain a physical copy (picture or photocopy) of a student’s Green Card. Jewish Family Service follows strict confidentiality guidelines and DOES NOT share personal information with third parties, only directly reporting to the Department of Homeland Security. Jewish Family Service maintains strict codes of conduct with staff and volunteers teaching citizenship classes.
